Plants on Rainy days

The smell is alluring

It’s a light feathery type of rain. The small blunt raindrops that float rather than fall from the sky. They settle onto the ground waiting to join and form a puddle but with a peculiar politeness. I’m inside, attempting to re-pot — or re-home — spider plants as they break off and form characters of their own.

It’s reminds me of my little breaks to visit Botanical gardens in the middle of holidays. Often by myself, as I like to spend the day wafting between the wild species of plants domesticated by the English weather.

My local Botanical Gardens is tucked away in the corner of Edgbaston, but it’s a place I know very well. But like many, they’re often joined with Universities, as a collaboration to invite members of the public to view these wonderful things.

Today has just provided a small introspect, of the green world that’s made us. Take a chance and visit your local botanics.
